Can Hypnotherapy Help With Addiction?

Could Hypnotherapy be the answer to your addiction issues?

I sincerely believe York Hypnotherapy Clinic is well-equipped to assist those struggling with addiction issues, regardless of the nature of these addictions, and I’ve worked upon alcohol, drug and porn addiction most often.

In addition to my abilities as a Hypnotherapist, I also have a number of other skills that I use to improve the effectiveness of the help York Hypnotherapy Clinic provide those seeking help and support to overcoming addiction.

As humans, we have the capacity to become addicted to just about anything, and in my professional experience as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have learned that addiction can often help us to avoid more pressing matters in our lives which require attention.

Dr. Gabor Maté is a renowned addiction specialist, and he has written numerous books and papers on the subject of addiction. He’s helped a great many addicts and he is without doubt someone which I respect greatly within his field of expertise.

He talks about trauma and whilst most would be aware of post traumatic stress disorder in soldiers (PTSD), few would expect it to occur through a attending a birthday party as a child!

Trauma is often overlooked by some Hypnotherapists and the wider medical profession, and trying to just simply treat the addiction with Hypnotherapy or medication without actually resolving why the individual started their addiction can be counter-intuitive.

As a skilled therapist and Hypnotherapist that has successfully helped a number of clients to finally overcome their addiction after several failed attempts with other therapeutic interventions, it comes as no surprise as to why some addictions started. By resolving past trauma, I’m able to provide individuals with the strongest chances of success, rather than putting a sticking plaster over the issue in a metaphorical sense, I get to the root cause and deal with this. .

Those suffering from any form of dependency desperately want to move forward with their lives, feeling free to make better choices. Allowing themselves the opportunity to live normal, happy and healthy lives free from addiction. I’m proud of my track record in helping people to positively change their lives and this includes a number of addicts I’ve helped, through the use of a cutting edge blend of Advanced Hypnotherapy, NLP, Coaching and The BLAST Technique®

My clients know that I offer far more than just simply Hypnotherapy and I’m skilled in a number of different ways. In my opinion, one of the best ways to resolve addiction, is to deal with the root cause and the best way to achieve this is through eye movement therapy. Very few people are aware of its efficacy, despite the fact it’s been around since 1987 in the form of Eye Movement Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, which often is referred to as EMDR.
There is an important element often overlooked by some Hypnotherapists and the wider medical profession as a whole, and that is trying to just simply treat the addiction without resolving the why. As a skilled therapist and Hypnotherapist that has successfully helped clients to finally overcome their addiction after many years and several attempts, it comes as no surprise as to why the addiction started when you are armed with this valuable information. Let’s resolve past trauma and provide the individual with the strongest chances of success, rather than putting a sticking plaster over the issue in a metaphorical sense.
I would like to show you how this combination of skills work and why in my opinion this is one of the best ways in which to become free from addiction.

Let me help you regain control

As someone qualified as an Advanced Hypnotherapist, there are few within my profession, that have studied to this level, or whom have worked with the number of addicts I have.

Having helped a great many people to overcome addiction, I know that Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis can play an important part in breaking habits and instilling new more positive beliefs and coping strategies. Also, as I have explained it  makes sense to resolve where necessary any unresolved issues which may have played a part in forming the addiction in the first place.

As I’ve stated already, one of the best ways in which to achieve this, is through Eye Movement Therapy, which really does have to be seen to be believed, and it’s a safe, simple and swift way to process negative memories from our past, In many ways, this is an eyes open form of hypnosis.

Shock and trauma often lurk behind addiction, there can also sometimes be past events which provide negative reminders and memories, if left unresolved these can manifest themselves both at a conscious and unconsciously level.

Together we will find a safe space for you to work through your feelings, enabling you to release the pain and negative self-belief that can often erode our ability to overcome addiction by ourselves.

Through my work as an Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, I’m able to play a positive role in helping those that seek help. If you are looking to end an addiction, then allow me to support you.

Remember, I’m able to help either in person in York, North Yorkshire.

Alternatively, we can utilise online hypnotherapy, and ne aware that the work I’ve delivered remotely has been just as effective, wherever in the world you might be.

The number of required sessions to successfully resolve an addiction will vary from person to person and the complexities of why and where the addiction began, will play a part this.

Allow York Hypnotherapy Clinic to help you put an end to your addiction.

Why choose me to help?

Around 1% of UK Hypnotherapists complete an Advanced Hypnotherapy qualification.

I’m registered within the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and General Hypnotherapy Register.

In addition, I’m a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, this ensures I follow guidelines set by the Professional Standards Authority and as such I’m able and have received referrals from medical professionals. There have even been a number of occasions where Doctors have referred their own family members.

In studying for my Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma (NQF 6), I was fortunate enough to study with ex-Sheffield Hallam University lecturer Doctor Paul Peace, Philosophy (PHD), Psychology, and Karen Bartle who holds a master’s degree in Health/Medical Psychology.

Throughout my career as a Hypnotherapist, I have been fortunate to study with people whom I consider to be some of the best in the business and in addition to studying with Karen and Paul, I trained with Matthew Ferguson and he has worked with Olympic athletes, Doctors and Psychiatrists to name but a few professions and he has over 25 years’ experience of Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and he shared some fantastic knowledge and expertise with me.

I have also been, fortunate enough to study with Nick Davies who created The BLAST Technique®

The studying I completed with Nick, sees me able to resolve negative memories through eye movement, and this is one of the most valuable skills I possess. I have studied numerous times with him and I can call myself  an Advanced BLAST Technique practitioner®.

In short, I have an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), I’m a skilled eye movement therapist, through my knowledge of  The BLAST Technique®, as well as also being a Motivation Therapist and Coach.
